Rules for Farm Stock Class
1. General Rules. Any regulations not mentioned for the farm stock class can be obtained from general tractor pulling rules.
2. Entry: Farm Stock tractors shall be manufactured in 1958 or before. A tractor cannot be entered in classes below its manufactured shipping weight. A Farm Stock tractor may pull in Antique, Classic or Fun Classes if it meets the criteria for those classes.
3. Rims/Wheels/Tires: Tractors must have OEM diameter rims and centers. Rim width may not exceed OEM. This also applies to welded rims that have been fitted to replace steel wheels. If a tractor was not originally equipped with pressed steel centers, OEM cast iron or spoke centers must be used. Use original hubs only. Tire size may be one size over original for that make/model of tractor (but not exceeding the sizes listed under the general rules according to rim width.) No sharpened tires. "Road worn" tires will be inspected and are subject to track official's discretion.
4. Speed: Speed is not to exceed 2.5 MPH, 3 beeps of the horn and you are Disqualified.
5. Engine: Engines need to have a stock block and be naturally aspirated unless originally equipped from the factory with a blower or turbo. Stock heads, manifolds and carburetors are to be used. Engine parts not listed in a parts book or replacement parts book for that specific make and model cannot be used. No electronic ignition systems, MSD, square or chrome coils allowed. The only exceptions include magneto/distributor and 6V/12V generator/alternator conversions.
6. Appearance: Tractors must remain with the original appearance. If a part is not listed in the manufacturer's parts book it cannot be used. No extra accessories are allowed. No aluminum or chrome is allowed except for exhaust pipes. All guards, shrouds, covers and shields shall be in the proper place and made of the original material (steel or iron). If there is no PTO shaft on the tractor, the rear end must have a factory cover in place. The tractor seat can be an original or a replacement (TSC) as long as stock mountings are used. No home made engine shrouds allowed. Alternators and straight pipe exhausts are okay. Hitches must remain as close to stock appearance as possible. Any altered items are subject to track official's discretion.
7. Farm stock rules are eligible for changes following the completion of the 2005 pulling season.

Antique & Antique Plus Tractor Pulls
1. Tractor and engine must be of brand name, manufactured in 1958 or before, and have serial number in proper place.
2. All tractors must have fenders and working brakes.
3. Tractors will be separated into three classes: 1) Farm Stock 2) Antique 3 MPH 3) Antique Plus 4.5 MPH. See separate rules for Farm Stock.
4. Each tractor may pull a maximum of two times in each speed class by jumping one weight range in each speed class you may pull a maximum of 4 times. If two drivers are using the same tractor, only the one pulling the farthest receives prize (trophy or money).
5.Weight classes are as follows: 2500 lbs., 3500 lbs., 4500 lbs., 5500 lbs., 6500 lbs.
6. Pull will be based on distance of pull.
7. Tractors must cross scales just before hooking to sled in each class. Paper plates with large numbers for identification will be on each tractor in the location indicated at the time of registration.
8. Tractors must not have any added governor controls, such as strings, wire or foot controls even if factory installed (i.e. J.D. H.).
9. No excess of engine RPMs. 10% above factory specifications will be allowed. Tractor speed is limited to 2.5 MPH, 3 MPH and to 4.5 MPH by radar on machine.
10. Three beeps of the horn will result in DISQUALIFICATION.
11. Draw bar height, not to exceed 19 inches at point of hitch. Hitch point a minimum of 24 inches center of rear axle back. All clevises must be rigid, with a minimum of a three inch hole. No vertical clevises.
12. No weights to extend beyond 11 feet from center of rear axle forward. No added weight behind hitch point. All weight must be safely secured to the tractor.
13. Maximum tire size of 18.4 x 33 inches will be allowed with rims up to 33 inches. Maximum tire size of 15.5 x 38 inches will be allowed with rims over 33 inches. If other than rules, burden of proof is on the driver. NO DOUBLE CUT TIRES.
14. Cut tires allowed on Antique and Antique Plus only, there are no restrictions on the top of the traction bars. The front of the traction bars and casing cannot be altered. No rice or radial tires allowed.
15. Driver must remain seated, signal tractor is out of gear when hitching and unhitching from the sled. Driver must keep one hand on the steering wheel at all times. Driver must obey the flagman.
16. Chain must be tight and driver must have signal from flagman before proceeding with pull.
17. Any object falling off of a tractor or driver while hooked to the sled will result in DISQUALIFICATION.
18. Boundary lines will be marked. Tractor will be disqualified if tractor tire touches the line.
19. Wheelie bars highly recommended.
20. Minimum age of driver will be 14 years of age. Written consent of guardian is required if under 18 years of age.
21. Three judges whose majority decision will be final.
22. Violations of any rules or unsportsman-like conduct shall be cause for disqualification of contestant and your entry fee will not be refunded.
23. Any of the above rules may be waived as per interpretation of the judges.
24. It is suggested that each tractor carry an approved fire extinguisher.
25. Pulling organization or Ionia Fair Association will not be held responsible for any damages done to tractor, driver, spectators or equipment while participation at the event.
26. No alcoholic beverages allowed on the grounds and participants shall not be under the influences of alcohol or drugs. This also will result in driver DISQUALIFICATION.

Youth Garden Tractor Pull Rules
1. Driver must be 14 years of age or younger.
2. Each driver must have written permission signed by parent/guardian before pulling.
3. Each driver must have a yearly safe driver certification before pulling. A yearly safe safe driver certification will be awarded upon completion of maneuvering through a mandatory obstacle course and tractor inspection.
4. Tractor must be operated in a safe and slow manner at all times.
5. Only track crew allowed on the track while tractors are pulling.
6. Each driver is allowed two consecutive pulls.
7. Driver must remain seated, no leaning or bouncing, no jerking of the chain and must stay within the boundary lines.
8. All moving parts must have safety guards. Operator's feet must be shielded from tires. Tractor must have a working emergency cut-off switch mounted on or near the hood. All tractors must have working mufflers.
9. Wheelie bars must be used. Wheelie bars must support the weight of the tractor. Wheelie bars cannot allow front wheels to rise more than 12 inches off the ground. Wheelie bars must extend a minimum of 6" beyond the outside diameter of tire. (6" rule to be enforced summer of 2006.)
10. Weight cannot extend more than 12 inches behind the rear wheels or 24 inches beyond the front wheels. Height cannot be more than 32 inches from the ground.
11. Engine must have a working governor and may not exceed 3600 RPM.
12. Drawbar cannot be more than 10" from the ground.
13. Maximum tire size is 12" x 12" x 26". Lawn and garden turf tires or agricultural lug tires only. No cut tires, tire chains, or quad tires.
14. No mower decks, 4-wheel drives, 2-cycle motors, or motorcycle motors. Garden tractor type motors ONLY with eighteen horsepower maximum. Stock garden tractors only.
15. Hydrostatic drive tractors are allowed. Hydros may be moved forward (faster) but must not be slowed down until pull is stopped.
16. One trophy per tractor, per class will be awarded. The child with the best pull will qualify for a trophy.
Weight classes are as follows: 600 lbs., 800 lbs., 1000 lbs. and 800 lbs. turf tires.
All decisions made by the pulling committee are FINAL.
